Ben Heath

Ben Heath is a local business manager with Jardine Motors (Audi) in Warrington. He has worked for Audi for 10 years, and been at the Cheshire site just over a year.

EXPLAIN A TYPICAL WEEK IN YOUR WORKING LIFE: The week consists of organising test drives, quotes and site visits to those companies that make enquires and also those that I prospect.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FACING YOUR INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW? There are a few: GDPR, WLTP, diesel and electric cars, but the brand is at the forefront for technology and innovation so we look strong going forward.

AND WHAT ARE THE BIG OPPORTUNITIES? Speaking with all local businesses and keeping the business in Warrington as we have some amazing cars available and coming soon.

WHAT WAS YOUR LAST MEETING ABOUT, HOW LONG DID IT LAST, AND WAS IT PRODUCTIVE? The last meeting was a 2-hour meeting about productive prospecting of our customers and it was very useful.

HOW MANY EMAILS DO YOU GET IN A DAY, AND HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO READ THEM? Roughly 30 each day and a few minutes can be spent on each one but depends on the day's diary and what that email says.

DO YOU ANSWER WORK CALLS OR EMAILS AT HOME? WHAT’S THE RIGHT WORK-LIFE BALANCE? I do answer and return emails most days whenever I get them. The balance is hard to get right as everyone lives and works different hours but we all want answers straight away.

HOW DO YOU HOPE YOUR COLLEAGUES WOULD DESCRIBE YOU? A character who wants the best for everyone and knows everyone.

BREXIT – WHAT’S YOUR VIEW OF WHAT IT’S ALL GOING TO MEAN? Don’t start me on Brexit - I feel it’s a big cloud of smoke, still waiting to see through it.

HIGHLIGHTS OR LOWLIGHTS OF YOUR CAREER SO FAR? I had some amazing times with Audi from trips to London and Germany. You will always have ups and downs but I must say Audi is a great brand to work for.

PET HATES? Traffic – drivers that brake for no reason and drive in the wrong lane.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK AND GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF SOME WISE ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Travel and see the world, and save rather than spend.

HOW DO YOU RELAX AWAY FROM WORK? I don’t really! I coach 3 different football teams from the age of 10 to adults, but I must say I love it and it does take some stress away.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS SPECIAL ABOUT CHESHIRE, AND ITS BUSINESS COMMUNITY? Cheshire is full of proper business people and family businesses that are always happy to talk and help each other.

YOU CAN TAKE ONE BOOK, ONE FILM AND ONE CD ONTO A DESERT ISLAND – WHAT WOULD THEY BE? Book would be Guinness Book Of Records; film would be Hitch; CD would be Rod Stewart

YOUR FIVE DREAM DINNER PARTY GUESTS, DEAD OR ALIVE? George Best, Bill Clinton , Elvis, My Dad, Jesus

WHAT WOULD YOU COOK FOR THEM…? Irish stew, crusty bread with loads of butter
